Side trip to California
Mostly
for something different to do, Karen and Micky and I decided to take a walk
and see what was around. Kim wanted to stay and play, so the three of us got our
coats (after promising the bell captain we'd be back really soon) and headed
out, planning to meet back in about an hour, at 5:00, and head back to our hotel
to get ready for the show.
There wasn't really a "strip" to speak of, but we had been told there were a lot of shops close by. We walked about a block and didn't see much except some little gift shops (which is always fine with me). I looked up across the street and saw a sign that read "Welcome to California," and I announced to Micky and Karen that I had to cross the street, since I'd never been to California! They were a little surprised, but they didn't even laugh at me (not for how much I just had to cross the street, or even for taking a picture of the sign while we were waiting), and we all walked across the street into California!
It was snowing in California too, so we just hit the gift shop and then walked back to Nevada.
On the way back, we went into Harvey's casino and browsed the shops there, then headed back to Caesar's and met up with Kim. We got the car back from the valet, which did seem to be a quicker process than the shuttle, and went back to our hotel.
