We're here... finally
We all changed for the show, and decided we liked the car where it was, so we'd take the shuttle. Kim went back over to Caesar's, and Karen, Micky and I tried one of the other restaurants in our hotel. After we ate, we went to call for the shuttle. Almost thirty minutes later, we were debating whether we should go get the car, but decided to try calling for the shuttle again. There was a white phone on the wall, and physically picking up that phone was apparently the only way to get the shuttle to show up. The second time we did that, the woman was a little testy and told us she had already called. Sorry - that "10 to 20 minute" estimate sort of had us expecting the wait to be a little less than 40 minutes! Finally the shuttle did show up, and at least we were close enough that it didn't stop anywhere else before taking us to Caesar's. We did notice once we got there that the valet parking at the casino was full, so just as well we didn't try to drive over. It was now snowing "big time" for real!
By the time we got to the venue, it was a little past 8:00 so we went right in. Helen came over and asked where we had been at 4:00, which was about the time we were setting off on our walkabout to California. She and Sheri had been waiting outside the venue doors, and had gotten to listen to the sound check that afternoon. They had heard the band rehearsing several of the new songs from Cyclorama, the new album coming out in February, including one song played all the way through, twice! So we had hopes we would get to hear something new that night, beyond the couple of bars from "Bourgeois Pig"!
