It Must Be A Sign

Lowell, Massachusetts - finally a show close enough that I could drive there after work and drive home again the same evening! That hadn't happened in a while!

I don't know what possessed me, but I decided I wanted to take a sign to this show. Styx had just gotten back from playing shows in Canada and Germany, so I made a posterboard sign that said "Welcome Home." Yeah, I know, Lawrence lives in Canada, so this isn't really "home" for him, but adding "except for you, Lawrence, but this is closer to home than Germany so welcome back anyway" was going to be a lot of fine print to put on a sign that they have to read from the stage, so I didn't try - I figured he wouldn't take offense. As you can see, I don't have a lot of artistic ability; however, I do have some strange attachment to that yellow and red color scheme. It's worked for me so far! I wasn't too sure how bringing the sign in would actually work, but I had it rolled up and fastened with a rubber band, and I just tucked it under my arm. No one batted an eye when I brought it in - I guess they've seen things a lot more outrageous before!

It was early when I got there, so when they let us in I walked around a little and looked at the stage setup, watching the crew make last minute adjustments. I am always amazed at how they make perfect order out of all the different components, in a different arena every night. They are great!
