New fans and... not so new fans

After the show, we went back out into the lobby. It had been snowing all afternoon, and everyone was trying to decide if they needed to change their travel plans because of the weather. Helen went and checked the weather report with the casino staff, and I don't think any of the roads had been closed, but they said the visibility was really bad. Kim, Micky, Karen and I had thought briefly about trying to get on the road to Reno right away and get a room near the airport, since we all had relatively early flights in the morning, but we decided against that. Plan B was to get the shuttle immediately after the show and get back to our room as soon as possible, so we could get a little sleep before getting up way too early in the morning. However, we didn't seem to be doing that either! Like always, we started talking to other people and didn't seem to stop! I met some more people who were hanging out, some from online and some not. It was nice to meet Jane and Steve, who I only know as "JaneandSteve," so good thing they were together when I met them!

After a little while, Glen came out and talked with us again. Those of us who had talked to him recently hung back a little, to let other people go up to him and talk, and get autographs and pictures. While he was there talking to people, a teen-aged girl and her mother (again, I'm guessing) walked by. They had been at the show, and then had gone to get something to eat, and were walking back by with their sandwiches and drinks when they saw Glen there and stopped. The girl was awestruck, and was asking us if she could actually go up and talk to him. We told her of course! Someone got his attention and said, "Glen, you have a new fan here!" Glen smiled at her and said, "Hi, new fan!" She was holding onto two sodas for dear life, and didn't loosen her grip on them as she walked a little closer and started trying to talk to him. Glen was being very encouraging and sweet and paying close attention to every word she said. Finally, strangling those sodas, she managed to say, "I just... wanted... to tell you... that I really like the way you shake your butt!" She was tentative at first, but by the time she was halfway through that sentence, she was going strong! Glen turned six shades of red and we all just died laughing. She was laughing with us by then, and I believe he actually managed to thank her for the compliment before he said, "I just want to make it clear that I only do that on stage - I don't just go around everywhere doing that!" Kim said, "Oh, do it now," and he looked at her all shy, and said, "No, I won't!"

Glen was very personable and accommodating as always, and stayed until everyone who wanted an autograph or a photo had gotten their turn with him. He stayed a few more minutes chatting with those of us who seemed to have taken up residence there in the lobby, then said goodnight. After a good half hour of, "Well, we have to go," we finally did, wishing each other good luck in our travels that night and tomorrow morning!

By the way - the shuttle took 45 minutes before not letting us on and sparking the "let's go out front and try and catch a cab oh no there's another shuttle, RUN" adventure!
