Aftermath!
When Foreigner left the stage, the house lights came up immediately and the show was over - it was kind of a shock! A lot of people had expected some sort of closing song with all the bands, but it was 12:30 by then and I think we were way past the venue's curfew anyway.
Jen, Edith and I went to get something to eat. Thanks for finding the diner, Jen - I needed something! I had been too excited to eat for most of the day, so I had had nothing but a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee all day long, and by the time REO Speedwagon came on, I was getting a little dizzy!
After that we went back to our hotel, downloaded and looked at some pictures from our great evening, and around 4am, Jen left to catch her next plane to go to the show in Cleveland that night! I'm glad Edith was driving, because I couldn't sleep until around 5am myself! I do have to point out one thing that happened at the hotel - Edith's key card didn't work when we got back to the room, and mine actually did! Given my record with key cards, this was nothing short of mind boggling. Is the curse broken?
The next morning before we left, Edith and I went out to the hotel lobby where they had a continental breakfast set up. Edith was wearing a Styx t-shirt, and we were talking about the show. When we got up to leave, a couple who were sitting behind us asked if we went to the show the night before. They said they didn't find out about it until that morning, and wished they had known. They were in the area to go to the Jets game on Sunday, and had been at the hotel the night before with nothing special to do. Ack! We talked to them for a few minutes and left them with Styx buttons. They must have thought they ran into the Styx publicity department!
What a great show, benefiting a worthy cause, and what a great time spent with friends!
