The new best ever
At the airport we saw some of the rest of "our people" who were on their way home - Ruth, Debbie, Tani, Lisa, and Keith too! Finally we all said goodbye and went off to our airlines to go home. When I got up to the security checkpoint, I had a long wait, since a football team was ahead of me. Literally. An entire football team from some University, in matching green jackets and all with matching green duffel bags to be checked. So I just hung back and spent the time half asleep and staring at the Styx poster on the wall; an ad for the Silver Legacy shows that hadn't been taken down yet. Finally I got all checked in and boarded the plane. When I got to my seat and got settled there, I was gone - I closed my eyes while people were still moving around up front, getting to their seats and putting their luggage away, and the next time I opened my eyes we were halfway to Minneapolis. With everything going on in the world, I was still so tired I slept through takeoff. Unreal.
This was such a wonderful weekend, spending time with friends and making new ones. And to top it all off, I have to say that I have a new "best ever" show - the show on Saturday night surpassed any other concert I have ever attended. How do these guys keep doing that?
