Here we go!

Finally the lights went down, and the show began! Just by standing, we were as close to the barricade as we could get, so there was no stage rushing, but the crowd jumped up and came alive! The letters rose up from the darkness, and I was finally at just the right distance and angle to get a great picture.  The way the light projected the letters onto the roof was cool too!

 S T Y X !!!!!

The lights went back down, then back up, and there they were! Everyone but Todd was dressed in layers - I'm sure to begin with, it was cold on stage too! The place was about to heat up though!

and like magic... STYX!!!

The show was great and the energy of the band and the crowd was amazing. There was a US flag draped in front of Todd's drum kit, small flags on each side of Lawrence's keyboard, and there were a lot of flags and signs out in the audience. Like the last few shows I had been to since September 11th, there were also some spontaneous chants of "USA - USA" during the evening. Funny how strangers can become as united as family at times like this. There was a good feeling in the air and it was good to be there with friends old and new.

Rockin' out - Tommy has already lost his coat!
