Yes, we are crazy STYX fans

Toward the afternoon, there was more of a crowd waiting for Styx.  People were starting to give us some slightly odd looks as they walked by, especially the people walking in and out of the arena for the other shows. There was something happening on stage, so why would we be out there on the lawn, behind a barricade? Finally Edith made a sign that explained everything.

Crazed Styx fans behind bars

Here is our band of dangerous ladies behind bars. That white piece of paper stuck on the bars reads, "Yes, we are crazy STYX fans!" Somehow John and Tommy were absent while this was going on!

One of the crowd control staff kept coming over during the day to chat and joke with us. One time he told us, "Sorry to tell you, but Styx called and cancelled. NSYNC is playing instead though." Ha ha. He was a cool guy though.

When it was time to go in, he came over and gave us some very clear rules. He'd be taking us into the arena in small groups, and there would be no running, no shoving, no sitting anywhere except where he told us to sit, no saving spaces for anyone who wasn't there and ready to go in, and no leaving once we got in there. Fine. The only problem was, he had us kind of clump up to get ready to go in, instead of staying in a line along the barricade like we had been doing all day. He said it was to keep people from sneaking in behind those of us who had been waiting all day, but it had the opposite effect, and some people did cut in. Linda's family and I were still the first ones to go in, but some other people moved in and got between us and Edith and Judi on the front row. Not really enough to argue about, but kind of annoying. Jolea had shown up in the early afternoon and joined us, and ended up next to Judi and Edith. She had been at the show in Pennsylvania the night before and had spent the day driving up - the only GOOD reason for not being there since early morning to wait in line!
