Puddles

keep that towel nearby... playing in the wind and rain

There was so much water onstage that it became part of the show for Glen or Tommy to run across the stage, stomping in puddles along the way and watching the spray fly up! At the end of "Fooling Yourself," in fact, when Glen and JY and Tommy were up at the front of the stage together, they were splashing in rhythm in the huge puddle that was center stage! It was way more fun than you should be allowed to have. Tommy said at one point, "If my mother was here, she'd say, 'Tommy, gitcherass inside, it's rainin'!' But she's not here tonight!" My mother wasn't there either, so we all stayed out and played in the rain!

This was such a cool show, that most of the time I forgot how soaked I was! I only really noticed when the rain stopped for a minute. At the end of "Miss America" I decided to give my poor blue gloves a rest - they were dripping! I took them off and put them away, and for a minute I attempted to applaud and go on with no gloves, but my hands were wet and raw and cold! Sometimes these gloves are functional as well as being the fashion statement that they are - it was nice to have a dry pair of gloves to change into, even if they didn't stay warm and dry for long!

By the time the confetti came down during "Too Much Time On My Hands," the rain was very heavy but the wind had never stopped, so the effect was that the confetti flew like mad and then stuck to the nearest surface. Lawrence's keyboard and the three microphones at the front of the stage ended up looking like very strangely shaped piņatas, with colored tissue paper sticking out at all angles! Most of us in the audience probably looked the same way for a few minutes though!
