Billy Squier

Billy Squier and band

After a very short break to re-set the stage, Billy Squier and band were out! If you remember him from the 80's, just expect smaller hair and you're all set! He played just about all of his "Don't Say No" album. One change that surprised a lot of people is that instead of playing "The Stroke" as most people remember it, they played the "Stroke Me Blues" from his "Happy Blue" album, a slower and more laid back version of the song. I understand how he wants to do something different, but he does miss an opportunity to really get the crowd into his set here - some people were disappointed not to hear what was his biggest hit as they are used to hearing it.

Mark and BillyToward the middle of the set, Billy announced "Well that's side one..." and asked for some help for those of us who remember the days of vinyl and cassette! He asked if anyone could tell him what came next, at the beginning of the next side of the album. Someone from the second or third row shouted excitedly, "Side Two!" Well not quite - but "A" for effort!

Excellent set that had the crowd on its feet several times. This is a long show and I think people were conserving their energy!
