Truth in advertising
Valerie and Donald and I met up with Kelly at the hotel. Kelly gave the two of them two Styx buttons each (I had mine already), and we all happily wore our buttons to Pizza Hut. Kelly and I chattered the whole time and I made her tell me everything about the new show that she could remember. It was SO difficult to make her talk about it - NOT! I am a person who doesn't think "spoilers" spoil anything! Valerie and Donald just watched and tried to get a word in edgewise now and then!
On the way into the venue, with Kelly and me buzzing like high tension wires, Valerie said to us, "You know, as much as y'all are building this up, we're getting some pretty high expectations for this show." It was great not to have to backpedal and say "well... WE like it... you may not think it's as great..." NOTHING like that. We emphatically said, "As high as your expectations may be, this show will be BETTER." And I even said, "If after this show you don't think it was even better than we told you it would be, I will give you your money back." Like I have extra money - ha! But I knew the boys would back me up!
