Some visual tryx...
Some more surprises in this new set include "A Criminal Mind," which was originally a song Lawrence did as a solo artist. The Styx version is wonderful, with Tommy on the mandolin, some additional vocal harmonies, and a JY guitar solo that has him spotlighted on the upper stage as colored lights shine on the air towers behind him. Another great effect on this tour is a blizzard of color that engulfs the stage and the audience when confetti blasts out from above the lights at the end of "Too Much Time On My Hands." The air is filled with it!
To introduce "Come Sail Away", Lawrence invites us to leave Styxworld and travel to the stars. A back drop with a space scene is behind Todd, and flecks of light circle around the audience, reflecting from a huge mirrored ball that lowers slightly from the rafters.
