Lady
Lawrence had his time to do a little free-form piano playing, and then led into "Lady". He came out from behind the keyboard for the second verse and was able to roam the stage a little. He made sure to get the audience involved in what was going on, and since I was also on "his" side of the stage, he glanced over at me a lot during the show, checking up on me! He sounded great and the harmonies were amazing. Todd gets a chance to show his stuff during this song, and the drums were incredible! When everyone gets going, this song is a real rocker performed live.
Next, Glen took center stage and began leading us in a "day-o" sing along. After a couple of calls and answers, he pointed to his left and said, "It seems like this side is 'day-o-ing' louder than that side," then pointed to his right. The people on the right (my side!) took up the challenge, and we screamed as loud as we could, and some people even booed at the thought that we weren’t up to the volume standard. Glen kind of shrank back from us and said, "Don't get mad now!" He then went through a few more rounds of "day-o", directing the different sections of the crowd, leading us through some "yeahs" and "ows" as well. Then he talked about the next song being a greeting to Y2K, and said "If you listen carefully, you might just hear an old chestnut in there!" I heard someone protest behind me, "Mr. Roboto is not a chestnut!" Glen is a real firecracker and a natural to be in the spotlight. He is extremely animated when he is singing or running around the stage. If he ever picks pink as the color of the day for his hair, he will be a dead ringer for the Energizer bunny. Except that I don't believe I've ever seen the Energizer bunny do pelvic thrusts with a bass guitar.
