The Finale

The "Brave New World" reprise played as they came back out to take their bows. They usually go around the stage and smack hands with the audience, and even though I thought I couldn't get closer to the stage, I suddenly did, as people rushed up to the front and I was pressed against the stage. Lawrence started over at my edge of the stage, and of course I reached my hand up with my shiny glove on it, and he didn't just smack my hand, he actually grabbed it and shook it, in a REAL handshake. I had his attention for a second and actually had the presence of mind to tell him "Great job!" and he said "Thanks!" He shook hands with several other people and took the time to make eye contact with many of us. Glen came over and smacked hands with a lot of us and gave me another smile. Then JY came over, smiled at my gloves, gave my hand a good hit and gave me a big smile, which was the cap to the best concert experience I have ever had and will probably ever have. I am not suggesting in any way that these guys did not pay just as much attention to others as they did to me - of course they did. But everyone else in the audience can get their own web page. J

After the show I walked out with Mark, Jen and Justin and we talked all the way out and then hung out for another half hour in front of the gates talking. Justin was really jazzed and I was so happy that he loved his first Styx show! Jen and I showed each other the picks we got and I made sure to tell her that his name is Glen and NOT Derek like it says on the pick! J  I was so excited; I have to thank the three of them for putting up with my babbling and screaming "Oh My God" every couple of minutes! We traded email addresses so we could keep in touch, then finally had to head for our cars.

I have been to many fantastic concerts by many really great bands. I have been to other amazing Styx concerts, with various band configurations. This show was the absolute killer. I'll go to other terrific shows, and with luck even more Styx shows, but it will never… EVER… get any better than this.  Thank you guys!!!!
