STYX Takes The Stage
And then… the lights went out and the music came up.
I immediately went out into the aisle. I walked up about two rows so I was standing next to Jen, and stood about a foot away from the edge of the stage, right in front of "the spot" between the small mike and the speaker tower. For all intents and purposes, I was front row. Way over at the side, yes, but not a soul between me and the edge of that stage. I was also about a foot away from the security guy, but he just looked at me, and since I stopped where I was and didn't try to pass him, he let me stay. I was rooted for the rest of the evening, and he never gave me any trouble about standing there or using the camera. I'm sure he must have seen me taking a few pictures, but like before, I didn't use a flash, didn't take pictures non stop, and didn't really disturb anyone. If he looked over at me at all the rest of the night, he would have seen me singing along, screaming my head off (the guy was wearing earplugs but I'll bet he still heard me), clapping or dancing, but not making any trouble, not trying to get past him, and not putting any beer cups on the edge of the stage!
They opened the set with "Everything Is Cool". The intro was to a darkened stage as usual, then the lights blasted on and there was the band! Everyone looked great, JY and Lawrence particularly in my opinion, but maybe I just like the line of the long coats they were wearing. Oh, and hair - with Glen in the mix, you have to mention hair! Glen's hair was short and kind of reddish-brown. Tommy and Lawrence have let their hair grow out a little and have joined the facial hair club. Tommy's hair is just about to his shoulders and he has a moustache and goatee going, and Lawrence has his hair down to his shoulders with the little purple tint in the back and a vertical stripe of a beard on his chin. Todd and JY - same hairstyles as always, and no complaints here about that! In fact, guys, all of you - stop with the hair changes now, you've got it perfect! Well, I guess I won't tell Glen to stop the changes - not that it doesn't look terrific right now, but how can you ask Glen to stop changing his hair? Try to stop being left-handed while you're at it, Glen, and we'll see which one happens first!
