Chatting and autographs
Next, we went back downstairs and hung out around the venue, Bluesville, and met up with some other online folks. Glen walked by, so we talked to him for a few minutes, and some people had some things for him to sign. We tried not to attract a crowd, but Glen didn't seem to mind, and was very sweet and gracious, hugging people and signing anything and everything. Not too much later, Lawrence came by, and he stopped and signed things too. After a few minutes, he said he needed to go outside and "perform a task," but that we could come with him. Debbie still had something for him to sign and I was carrying half her stuff, so a few of us went outside. He excused himself, walked over to a flower bed, leaned down and poured something out of a plastic coffee-creamer container. Dr. Karen and I looked at each other - did he just water the flowers with half and half? We found out later that he had a cricket in the container and he was setting it free. Everybody say "awww!"
I'm beginning to think that Lawrence is a born chatterbox (and there are some who would say I should know). No matter what anyone asked him, told him, or handed him to sign, he had a story to tell about it. The story behind the tortoise picture inside the CD of "The Good Catches Up" was priceless, as was his impression of Dimo Safari's German accent. After a few minutes, he went to take a walk, and we came back inside.
The next celebrity to walk up was Kelly! We got her all settled in our room, then hustled her over to Cindy and Jerry's room for her surprise bridal shower, which we had been afraid she was going to miss! This was the last time some of us would see her single, so Cindy, Jerry, Dr. Karen, Debbie, Jen RN, Karen, Janet, Deb (dirtndeb), Anna and I got together and had cake and gifts. Cindy, Jerry and Jen did a great job with the decorations!
