Waiting, watching and meeting
We went to the buffet and got something to eat, then tried to figure out what to do with ourselves for five hours until the show started at 9! We fed some money into slot machines and watched it disappear, looked through the shops, ran into lots of the crew, and then as it got later, saw more of our friends who had come in for the shows. We found Helen and Sheri (or was that "some other girls"?) sitting near the stairs going up to the venue. There was a little sofa there in an out-of-the-way area, and I think it was really intended for people who were waiting to get into the restaurant that was right next to us. But as it was one of the few places to sit without being next to a money-eating machine, we settled there. We took turns with Helen and Sheri, with some of us reserving the spot while the others walked around.
It turned out to be a good people-watching spot. We saw Todd and Taylor go into the restaurant, and then later, there was a bunch of excitement, picture-taking and autograph-getting. It turned out to be over Christopher and Danny Masterson and Laura Prepon (from "Malcolm In The Middle" and "That 70's Show"). I'm not sure if they were headed for the restaurant or just hanging out in the casino, but after a few minutes they figured out that with the huge crowd there waiting for the Styx show, that wasn't the best place for them to be and not get mobbed! They seemed to be really nice though, and posed for pictures and talked to people.
We also saw a lot of "our" people! LouAnn and Jeff turned up, and Dixie; and then Laura and John, and another Jeff, who I hadn't met before. Always great to add new people to the family! After that we had several constantly changing chat circles going on simultaneously as we waited for the doors to open!
