Excellence as usual
"Sing For The Day" was followed by "Fooling Yourself." Only a bar or two into "Fooling Yourself," Tommy's guitar cut out. He tried playing it for a few more bars, but there was no sound coming from it at all. So, without interrupting the song, he took the guitar off and leaned on it, just singing for a few bars, until someone ran out with a guitar to swap him for the green acoustic one that had had enough of working tonight. Very fast work by the crew!
During "Renegade," all of us in the front row moved up closer to the stage, to be right up as close as possible for the last song. At the end of the show when all the guys came up to the edge and smacked hands with people, Tommy shook my hand and said "Hi, sweetie!" These guys are just so nice to the fans!
Another excellent show, and certainly the most trouble I've ever gone to just to see a concert, with no other reason for being there. Was it worth it? You bet - the show itself was worth every mile, every cent, and every bit of decongestant medication. The smiles, winks and handshakes are just bonuses! Happy birthday JY, and me!
