Between shows
I got all my accessories ready! I had my gloves with me of course, and I made
another sign for this show. I almost didn't make the sign because I thought,
how am I going to make a sign at home and fit it into a suitcase to bring with
me? That's a lot of trouble. But Jamie convinced me that I could wait until I
got there, since they
probably sell posterboard somewhere in Maryland - what would I do without
her? Navigationally challenged as I am, I did manage in the afternoon to find
a place that sold yellow posterboard without getting lost (too badly), and I
brought my own red marker with me. So here is my masterpiece. Original,
isn't it?
It
seemed sudden this time - the lights went down and "Everything Is
Cool" began. As soon as the lights came up, I held up my sign, and JY
looked across the front row right away and saw it! He gave me a big smile and
a nod, so I'm glad I did make the sign after all. That smile is worth
wandering around Maryland in the rain looking for a Rite Aid any day. Glen
recognized me by my gloves later too, and smiled and nodded - he hasn't been surprised to see me
since Wisconsin!
Once Styx was on stage,
the group of women to my left and I were on our feet for good - no more
sitting! Tommy tosses out his slide to someone in the crowd after he's done with it during the first
song, and he threw it right to one of them. Nice catch - she was a happy girl!
