Sticks and picks

Toward the end of the set, one guy from the front row went up to the edge of the stage and was doing some serious air drumming, and pointing at Bryan. You don't always see the drummer get too much attention. This guy, though, was right in front of Dave and completely ignoring him to point at Bryan, enough that Dave noticed, got Bryan's attention, and pointed the guy out to him. Bryan looked down at him, and this guy went nuts! He kept air drumming like crazy and gave Bryan the thumbs up - it's the first time I've ever seen Bryan smile while he was playing! Very nice! He laughed and nodded to the guy.

 Kevin, Dave and Bryan

At the end of the set, Bryan came out with a handful of sticks as usual, and walked up and tossed the first stick to this guy, who was still at the edge of the stage - and he missed it! The look on Bryan's face was priceless! But after a couple of bounces, the guy did own the drumstick, and Bryan did make sure he had it before he moved on to throw the rest.

Dave, Bruce and BryanOn the end of the front row, there were three kids who had Down's syndrome, and one of them was just the happiest person you ever would want to see at a show. He was on his feet through all of Survivor's and REO's sets, and he moved up closer to the stage like any good fan, and danced and just had a blast all night long. He was pure joy and it was wonderful. I was sorry to see his group leave after REO's set, but all three of them did go home with guitar picks!
