Upgrading, Part Two
After Herb left the stage and the lights came up, just like last night, "School's Out" began to play almost immediately. I was in section F, same as the night before. I got up and went to the aisle - just going to talk to friends, right? A bunch of us congregated in the aisle - me, Tani, Louis and Angela, Karen, Edith, and Karen nobody were in a little group getting ready to move! They did actually have a little more security than the night before. They had a person in front of each of the middle sections, where the first night they just had one guy covering all three middle sections. I never saw what happened to him the first night, since I didn't get over that far!
So we were all hanging out looking as innocent as possible, and when the lights went down BOOM - we moved up to the front, but the guard stopped us, so there we were - trapped at the aisle between E and F, but up at the front! Then the band came out, and we went nuts! All during the first song we all were just kind of bopping there in the aisle! Security had funny rules - they weren't even attempting to make us go back to our seats, and we were all dancing and clapping, and I was even taking pictures from where I was. All of this seemed to be fine; security was satisfied just not to let us go any farther.
My first position...
notice the confetti cannons
...and after they moved me. It
looks farther back, but it isn't,
it's just farther up the aisle!During the second song, "Blue Collar Man," the band began seriously starting to notice that most of the front row was sitting, and all the dancing screaming fans were trapped in the aisle, so they started coming over to the corners, playing to us! Did I mention security had funny rules? During this song, one of the staff came up to me (why me I don't know) and said, "You can stand up here, but we have to keep the aisle clear," and led me up to the edge of the stage. Kind of a lateral move, and a better camera angle! So - whatever!
