The Band Starts Playing...

The first song is "Everything Is Cool" - this is such a great song to start a show, the way the chords and the volume build. The very beginning chords are a tape - when the music starts the lights are down and no one is on stage. Todd comes onstage first - the drums are all live. When the drum rolls stop and the music changes, that's when the spotlights hit and everyone else kicks in at full strength!  During this song and the next, "The Grand Illusion", people again stood up at the beginning of the song but then sat back down! I was up and down, standing and clapping and singing as much as I could without driving the people behind me crazy. The two guys sitting to my left and the couple on my right got up with me a lot of times, so at least it wasn’t just me!

"Blue Collar Man" - Tommy always says "Hello friends!" Tonight, after that he said, "We're baaaaaack!" They played at Mohegan Sun in April too. It was a different actual venue; before, they were in the Events Center, and this time in the new Uncas Pavilion, but close enough! And to think I almost didn't go to the show in April… I was new... I didn't know...

The drums in the middle of this song... wow! During the "dit de dit dit, dit dit de doo" section (think about it, you know, I'm sure you do) and leading back into the chorus... not to repeat myself but big WOW! I'm sure part of it was being so close but man, Todd beats the living daylights out of those drums! You could reach out and touch the sound. During this section and many times during the night, I could feel the drumming in my skin, in the hair on my arms, you name it... Todd ROCKS.
