The REO Speedwagon Vibes
REO played first at this show. When Bryan hit the first beat on the drums in "Don't Let Him Go," my bangs leapt off my forehead from the volume and the power. I know that's a strange way to describe it, but that's exactly what happened - I could feel my HAIR moving. It was amazing!
During REO's show there were lots of people sitting down and sitting still. It must be odd for the band to see so many people just sitting and looking at them. This crowd was at least a little more animated than the bunch the night before, but not what I am used to at a show. Any time I thought it wasn't going to completely annoy the people behind me, I would stand and clap and sing. It's amazing how many of the words to most of the songs I know now! Of course I just had a refresher course last night, so I was familiar with even the ones I didn't know too well. Since I was in the third row and everyone in front of me was sitting for almost the entire first half of the set, I was right in the band's line of sight when I did stand, and I got a lot of nice smiles from Dave. I guess he was glad to see someone up on their feet, and I tried really hard to get all the words right when he was looking at me! I think most people were having a good time, just very sedately! I didn't take any pictures during REO's set because I was right in view of the security guard, and he was already looking at me a lot since I was standing up so much. I wasn't causing any trouble though so he never did anything - just looked over at me a lot to check up!One of my favorite songs in the REO set is "Back On The Road Again." When Bruce played that booming bass solo part at the beginning of the song, not only was my hair standing on end, but I could feel the notes resonate in all two hundred and six bones in my body! An incredible performance!
